About

Joella recently graduated from Carleton College majoring in Studio Art. She enjoys working in ceramics, focusing on the form and tactile quality of the objects she creates. Having learned ballet since a young age, dance poses and movement is a major source of inspiration for her work. Her ceramics often features more subtle surface designs to embrace a delicate quality in the forms. These abstract designs can also be seen carried across her work in other media. Having taken a liking to the principles of the Japanese tea ceremony, Joella also likes to explore the contrast of materials and how her work interacts with the user.
